Runner was made as my very first project in Unreal Engine 4. I had one week to learn the engine and make this game with no prior knowledge. It’s a short, top-down, bullet-hell style shooter with three basic levels. There are signs you can interact with that give you a tutorial on how to play, as well as an NPC that will allow you to change your weapon and element type for the best advantage in battle.
It’s a fairly basic project, but considering it was the first time I had ever used the engine and it was made in only a week, I am happy with how it turned out. The gameplay mechanics I put in place could easily be extended to create a longer game; Runner was more of a demonstration than anything, so I didn’t deem it necessary to continue it.
The repository for the game can be found on my github: https://github.com/npels/ue-runner
